When I compare D&C 4:2 to the teachings of Stephen Robinson and his spiritual successor Brad Wilcox, I find these two men stand in direct conflict with the scriptures.
Make an honest comparison of their doctrine to what the scriptures say:
D&C 4:2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
Stephen Robinson claims that we will stand blameless before God at the last day simply by nature of our baptismal covenant. He teaches that our spiritual assets are merged with Christs, and that adds up to 100% perfection. Brad Wilcox says that we need to improve in order to show gratitude. But it is just to show gratitude. By no means is it crucial or compulsory to stand blameless before God at the last day. They both repackage the same standard age old protestant doctrine for Mormons and claim it is the gospel.
Their doctrine is false. It is not the doctrine of the scriptures. The scriptures teach us to serve God with all our heart, might, mind, and strength, that we may stand blameless before God at the last day.
