It’s mother’s day. What shall they speak about in church?
I am used to our North Salt Lake ward that preferred to use words like “Man’s day” and “Women’s day”. So let’s see how it goes.
First a five minute talk by a youth who did say her mother could always bring her seminary class back on topic.
The next talk is long talk about the Relief Society.
Next is the primary children singing “Mother, I love you”. Good move. Finally.
Final talk was assigned to be based on D Todd Christofferson’s talk “The Moral Force of Women”. Fortunately the speaker seems to be using it to talk about Mothers, including his own mother. Thankfully, he has more sense than whoever assigned the talks. He expressed gratitude to his mother.
I think each speaker at least said “Happy Mother’s Day” as well.
Well, not terrific on the part of those who made the assignments, but the final speaker showed some sense. One person with some sense can help a situation out and I think he did.
