Teaching what could not possibly offend

As I sit in high priests group and listen to the lesson I can’t help but feel like we are aiming low. It doesn’t sound particularly different than a lesson aimed at the youth. The main point being made is that we shouldn’t leave the church or go inactive by being offended.

Sure, I am sure there are high priests who leave the church by being offended. But I am not sure I even believe that such lessons are the best way to prevent that.

We are just aiming so low.

We won’t say the tough things.

And saying the tough things has power to change lives.

And also power to offend.

We don’t want to offend, so we fail to change lives.
