New lessons from the new endowment:
#1) Adam will be punished for his transgression. But not Eve, who Moses tells us first partook, and who Moses tells us then gave the fruit to Adam. Eve will receive no punishment at all.
So hurrah for feminism.
#2) Eve is just that sort of girl who can disobey God’s one big commandment in one moment and then insist that she ALWAYS keeps ALL the commandments immediately thereafter, before even discussing her transgression with God. I think we offended Eve, who is a real person, when we portrayed her as being a spiritual floozy concerned about appearing justified rather than concerned about sin and redemption. I don’t think Adam is the sort who will let us treat his dear wife that way with impunity.
